FARMSTOCK
About FARMSTOCK
FARMSTOCK is a digital auction platform for cattle and other farm animals, working with farms across Europe. It connects farmers with verified buyers - meat processors, fatteners and exporters - across Europe.
Traditionally, the price of livestock is set by a single buyer who comes to the farm and offers their sum. A small farm finds it hard to reach the large buyers, and hauling animals to a market or collection point creates unnecessary costs, stress and weight loss. FARMSTOCK changes this: at auction, several buyers compete for the very same animals, so the price is set by several market participants, not by one person.
How it works
The farmer creates a listing and puts the animals up for auction - free of charge. The animals stay on the farm until the sale and go directly from there to the buyer, without needless transport. The seller can set a reserve price - a hidden minimum below which the animal is not sold - so there is no worry that the livestock will go for too low a sum. Smaller farms can combine into shared loads to together reach the export volumes that would be hard for a single farm to provide.
Trust and security
An auction is only worthwhile when both sides know who they are dealing with. That is why only verified participants may take part, including via eID. In platform-administered deals, the money is held in an escrow account until the animals are handed over - the seller can be confident of being paid for the livestock sold, and the buyer that they will receive exactly the animals they bid on. A built-in logistics panel helps arrange transport from the farm to the buyer.
What it costs
For the seller, creating and running an auction is completely free - €0. The buyer pays a fixed commission fee, and only when the auction ends in a confirmed sale. If no deal takes place, there are no fees at all.
Who is behind it
Behind FARMSTOCK are people who know farming and livestock trading from the inside. We do not make empty promises - we give the farmer the tools to get the true value of their work. The platform operates across Europe, and its auctions are open to farmers and buyers in every European country.
